Visitors are welcome at Caro Community Hospital, and they can be good medicine for our patients. We all need to remember, however, that patients care is our primary concern and that we focus the greatest part of our efforts toward that goal. In order to enhance the quality of this care, we maintain certain visiting guidelines:
- Visitors may not smoke in patient’s rooms or anywhere else inside the hospital;
- Visitors should dress appropriately and must wear shirts and shoes;
- Visitors in semi-private rooms should be considerate of both patients;
- Visitors should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise;
Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments, or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient; cooperation is expected.
If you need additional information about these visiting guidelines, or about CCH visiting hours, please check with the nurse on the unit.
Gifts for Patients
Visitors should check with the nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to any CCH patients to make sure that these gifts are appropriate. If patients are in the monitoring unit, we suggest checking before bringing in any gifts.
The Caro Community Hospital Chapel is located in the north main hallway, just inside the main lobby. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for worship services, prayer, and quiet reflection. Made possible through a donation from the Caro Rotary Club, the chapel offers a refuge for those seeking comfort.
Caro Community Hospital provides plenty of free parking for patients and visitors, 24 hours a day. The entire area along Hooper Street in front of the hospital is available for this use. Patients and visitors are asked to respect the handicapped parking areas. Please be sure to lock your car. If something happens which causes you to need assistance, please advise the receptionist and someone will help you shortly.
There are several waiting areas at CCH designated for patients, their families, and visitors. The main lobby has ample space for those waiting for laboratory services and for general visitation. In addition there are waiting areas for the Emergency Department and for Surgery.
The CCH cafeteria is open daily from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM for breakfast; 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM for lunch; and 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for dinner.
Vending machines for beverages and snacks are located in the ER waiting room and are available 24 hours a day.
