CCH President Named Chairman of the Small & Rural Hospital Council

Marc Augsburger, President and CEO of Caro Community Hospital, has been named chairman of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA) Small or Rural Hospital Council for the 2016-2017 program year. Augsburger has been a member of the council since 2013.

The MHA Small or Rural Hospital Council examines the broad issues facing the healthcare industry and represents the perspective of the small and rural provider on these issues to the policy and decision-making bodies of the MHA. Further, the council focuses on issues unique to the small or rural healthcare provider from a regulatory and policy development viewpoint. Augsburger’s responsibilities as chairman include leading quarterly council meetings throughout the program year and assisting with agenda planning.

Augsburger has also served since 2013 on the MHA Legislative Policy Panel, which identifies and analyzes healthcare legislation, recommends formal association positions to the MHA Board of Trustees, and helps guide association advocacy efforts based on the board’s legislative and political priorities.

In 2015, Augsburger received the MHA Healthcare Leadership Award for exceptional leadership and driving positive change at Caro Community Hospital.
